LARGO, MD- Founding members of RELiving With CP Team, Inc., were guests on the podcast “Living the Word Beyond Sunday Morning” hosted by the Rev. Benita L. Weathers, of Vision of Hope Baptist Church in Jenkintown, PA.  The podcast series discusses living faith in all aspects of one’s life (home, work, community, leisure, etc.) and how faith can intentionally influence our activities. The founding members of RELiving With CP Team, Inc., Ryan Ward and Emily Rowe both graduated from Kennedy Krieger High School in Baltimore in 2019 and 2020, respectively.  Both have lived with cerebral palsy since birth. Cerebral palsy or “CP” is a congenital brain condition which impairs muscle tone, movement and motor skills.

Living with cerebral palsy, Emily has faced challenges. However, she does not let her disability define her abilities or what she does. Rowe is currently a first year student at Montgomery College studying Food and Beverage Management. “I am so excited that this podcast allowed me to share my story,” Rowe said. “I hope my message inspires others to face their challenges and walk by faith.”

Ryan Ward, currently attends an adult daycare facility. Upon turning 21, Ward plans to enroll in the  Maryland Department of Rehabilitation Services for vocational training and pursue full time employment opportunities. He is also grateful to be on this podcast. “I am grateful for this opportunity to share my story and inspire others”, said Ward.

Rev. Weathers remarked “We thank God for these two lovely and brilliant young people who are doing a great work on behalf of those with different abilities”. The podcast episode “Living the Word through Physical Challenges:Different Abilities” (Season 3, Episode 3), is currently on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and wherever podcasts are heard.

Founded in June 2020, RELiving  With CP Team, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit  organization dedicated to providing support and resources for teens and young adults with cerebral palsy transitioning from high school to adulthood.. For more information, visit www.relivingwithcpteam.org
