RYAN WARD

Ryan Emanuel Ward is a passionate community advocate, motivational speaker, and champion for disability rights. rooted upon a strong foundation of faith, family, and perseverance.

A proud graduate of Kennedy Krieger High School, Ryan has always believed that giving up is not an option. His parents, brother and sister remain a constant source of strength and inspiration in his life.

Ryan is an active member of First Baptist Church of Glenarden, MD; where his faith continues to guide his commitment to service and leadership. Grounded in purpose, Ryan has transformed his lived experiences into meaningful advocacy work within the community.

As an advocate for individuals with cerebral palsy and other disabilities, Ryan works tirelessly to raise awareness, promote inclusion, and advance human rights. He continuously seeks opportunities for growth through virtual trainings, educational seminars, and webinars focused on disability rights, policy, and community empowerment. His commitment to lifelong learning strengthens his ability to educate others, influence change, and contribute to conversations regarding accessibility and equity.

Through advocacy, education, and faith, Ryan inspires others—proving that limitations do not define potential, and perseverance paves the way for purpose.

Jordan Miller

Jordan Miller grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and is a proud alumnus of  Kennedy Krieger High School class of 2017. At a few months old Jordan was diagnosed with cerebral palsy but it has never stopped him from following his dreams. Upon graduation Jordan began volunteering in the mailroom at the Broadway campus of Kennedy Krieger Institute which serviced all it’s facilities.. From there he moved with his mother and stepdad to New Smyrna Beach, FL where he continues to participate in several volunteer activities,  including the local hospital’s OR waiting room where he greets families as they wait for their loved ones. He was also recently elected onto the Activities and Leisure Board for the City of New Smyrna Beach, where he contributes much of his time to meetings for the city.

Some of Jordan’s favorite leisure activities in Florida are paddle boarding, yoga, mahjong and playing trivia with friends.  Although no longer living in Baltimore he remains a die-hard Baltimore Ravens fan. He looks forward to talking to and knowing members of RELiving With CP Team.

Kimberly L. Waters

Kimberly L. Waters is a unique free-lance makeup-artist, fashionista and CP(cerebral palsy) advocate. Kimberly has worked in beauty industry in addition to the make-up and fashion industry for over 7 years, as she has an immense passion for it, and truly loves her craft. Kimberly has trained under professional make-up artist Maeion Bryant Beauty & Co. and The Mobile Beauty Connection, which gave her the confidence and poise to pursue a career as a freelance make-up artist. Considered a “trooper” by friends and family, Kimberly is known for her ability to persevere as she was born prematurely with CP. She turned her challenges with CP into blessings, as she never gave in nor gave up. Kimberly now lives victoriously after overcoming many obstacles that were deemed unattainable including walking, talking, graduating, becoming independent, cooking, driving, and many more achievements to come. Kimberly is also blessed to have parents (Penny, Kim), identical twin sister (Kayla), and loving grandparents who have been extremely supportive while always believing in her dreams and desires. It is Kimberly’s deepest prayer that her testimony will give people who have CP unwavering hope. She loves inspiring others with an optimistic approach to the hurdles that she has faced, ultimately encouraging others to have faith in God while finding creative ways to flourish in life.

EMILY ROWE

Born a preemie and a twin, Emily knows the challenges faced by those with cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities. She believes that trying one’s best may look different for everyone who truly tries. “The act of progressing from one stage to another is a process of not just advancing but thinking how best to get there, which is the biggest step in the process. As a strong Christian, having faith in more than what one see’s, makes me a true believer that all things are possible”.

Advocacy is in Emily’s blood! Her parents and twin sister are very active in the community so it is only natural for Emily to stand up for what is right for all, especially for those who need a voice. Emily is a Maryland resident along with her Mom, Dad and twin sister.

A graduate of Montgomery College of Maryland, with an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in the Food and Beverage Management, Emily is pursuing a Bachelors of Science (BS) degree in Human Resource Management at the University of Maryland Global Campus, is a recent graduate of the ARC of Maryland's Partners and Policy Making program, and is a voting member of the State of Maryland Department of Health's Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) Waiver Advisory Council.

India Studevent

India Studevent graduated from Parkdale High School in 2017 and is currently enrolled at Prince George’s Community College in MD, working on her Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education. She is a proud member of the First Baptist Church of Glenarden where she serves on the Ushers Ministry and the Young Adult Choir. India’s goal is to become a teacher as she loves working with children and seeks to encourage and inspire them to be the best they can be given her belief in each individual’s wonderful talents and gifts.

Joy Hall

Joy Hall is a native of Baltimore, MD educated in the Baltimore County and Baltimore City public school systems. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in 2000 and a Masters of Science Degree in Communications in 2018,  both from Stevenson University. Ms. Hall is currently the Visitor and Volunteer Services Coordinator at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African-American History in Baltimore, where she has worked since 2005; starting out as a Visitor Services Associate and Group Reservationist. Ms. Hall currently oversees the visitor experience, coordinates tours, volunteers, trains docents and works with and mentors youth interns who work at the Museum. She educates youth about history and developing goals for the future. 

Joy volunteers with the Greater Baltimore Urban League for “Selfless Saturdays” serving the homeless.  She also occasionally volunteers to speak on behalf of the National Easter Seals Society of which she served as the 1989 National Easter Seals Poster Child and the first African-American to serve in that role. She often speaks about living with Cerebral Palsy and the triumphs and challenges faced throughout her life and career. Ms. Hall also serves on the Executive Board of the Janet Hall Foundation, it’s mission to assist breast cancer patients and their families in any way possible, particularly overcoming financial hardship. Ms. Hall wishes to continue to assist  similar organizations using her Public Relations and Communications experience  to publicize the work of positive organizations in our communities.
